We’re breaking out the five most popular songs in the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart, for the week ending March 22, 2014.

Top 5 Songs for Week Ending March 22

1. "Happy" Pharrell Williams
2. "Dark Horse" Katy Perry
3. "All of Me" John Legend
4. "Talk Dirty" Jason Derulo featuring 2 Chainz
5. "Pompeii" Bastille
Last time we met, Pharrell Williams ruled both the Hot 100 and the U.K. pop album chart. What happens this week? The answer is on the way. First, however, let’s travel to fifth place, British rock quartet Bastille remains with “Pompeii.” This song has been certified double platinum in the United States, meaning it’s shifted two million downloads.

Movement, we have movement! Unfortunately for Jason Derulo, it’s downward, as “Talk Dirty” featuring 2 Chainz slips a slot to number four. The video clip, however, is burning up cyberspace. It features cameo appearances from 23 celebrities, including Ariana Grande, One Direction, Robin Thicke, and even veteran interviewer Larry King. And yes, Jason's fiancée Jordin Sparks is also in the mix.

The good times keep getting better for John Legend, as “All Of Me” advances another slot to third place. John’s returning to the halls of academia; on May 19, he will deliver the address at the University Of Pennsylvania’s 258th commencement. He was John Stephens when he graduated in 1999 with a degree in English and a concentration in African-American literature and culture.

Staying put in second place is Katy Perry with “Dark Horse,” featuring Juicy J. Another famous singer revealed she turned down an opening slot on Katy’s upcoming tour. Speaking on Australian radio, Lorde said she turned down an offer to be the opening act on Katy’s upcoming Prismatic world tour. The teenaged newcomer said she would rather establish herself as a headliner in her own right.

Headlining the Hot 100 for a third big week is Pharrell Williams with “Happy.” Last week, Pharrell earned his first U.K. album title with his latest set, G I R L. This week, it opens on the United States chart, but could only manage a second-place debut. Rapper Rick Ross bags the championship with Mastermind.

So there you go: another Top Five put to bed. The charts never sleep, though, so prepare for an all-new lineup next week.
