Pro-Palestinian activists say a cargo ship loaded with 20 tons of aid is due to reach Gaza, Saturday -- a move that could set the stage for another maritime confrontation with Israel.

Organizers with the "Free Gaza Movement" released a statement, Friday, saying the Rachel Corrie is in international waters about 240 kilometers from Gaza and "on her way." They say the ship is loaded with construction material, paper and other supplies that Israel, as the organizers put it, refuses to allow for the "imprisoned people of Gaza."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told his Cabinet on Thursday the ship would not be allowed to reach Gaza. Israeli officials say the activists can, instead, unload their goods at the southern Israeli port of Ashdod.

On Monday, eight Turks and an American of Turkish origin died after Israeli commandos raided their ship. The activists were on a ship that was part of an aid convoy organized by a Turkish group trying to break Israel's three-year blockade of the Gaza Strip.
