Russian authorities say at least 15 people have been killed and scores of others wounded in a suicide car bombing in the North Caucasus city of Vladikavkaz.Authorities say the bomber detonated the explosives outside the main entrance to a crowded open-air market.Russian television showed blood-stained pavement and rows of cars wrecked by the mid-day explosion.There was no immediate claim of responsibility. The same market was bombed in 1999, killing more than 50 people.
Vladikavkaz is the capital of North Ossetia. Unlike Russia's other southern republics, which are predominantly Muslim, North Ossetia is mainly Orthodox Christian.
