[00:10.96]The president spoke to reporters in the Japanese city of Ise Shima Thursday. [00:17.80]He is in Japan for the meeting with other leaders of the G-7. [00:23.72]It is a group of the seven largest industrialized nations: [00:28.40]Japan, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Britain and the U.S. [00:37.76]Obama said the world is paying close attention to the presidential election [00:44.60]because "the United States is at the heart of the international order." [00:51.80]It is not the first time that the Democratic president [00:55.88]has strongly criticized the Republican presidential candidate. [01:01.64]Trump, a businessman, has made a number of controversial statements [01:07.56]about U.S. and foreign issues. [01:12.84]At one point, Trump called for possibly withdrawing U.S. forces [01:18.12]from Japan and South Korea. [01:21.84]He also suggested that Japan and South Korea [01:25.88]be armed with nuclear weapons to balance the threat from North Korea. [01:33.60]His comments caused a strong reaction in both countries. [01:39.08]When Trump announced his candidacy, [01:42.81]he angered Mexico by saying that immigrants from the country are [01:48.04]"bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists." [01:52.61]And he promised to build a wall to keep them out. [01:57.24]In addition, Trump has called for banning Muslims from entering the U.S. [02:04.56]On Thursday, Obama said his fellow leaders are, in his words, [02:10.40]"not sure how seriously to take some of his pronouncements." [02:15.56]He added that Trump's comments "display either ignorance of world affairs, [02:22.16]or a cavalier attitude, or an interest in getting tweets and headlines." [02:29.68]Before Trump's primary election victories, [02:33.24]Obama had said he does not believe he will be president. [02:38.44]Obama has questioned the businessman's judgement on foreign issues. [02:44.56]Earlier this month, Obama referred to Trump's acting on television. [02:51.48]He said, "This is not entertainment. [02:54.80]This is not a reality show." [02:58.88]During a speech before graduating students at Rutgers University in New Jersey, [03:05.48]Obama said, "In politics and in life, ignorance is not a virtue." [03:13.28]This brought a sharp reply from Trump. [03:17.08]The businessman tweeted, [03:19.64]"In politics, and in life, ignorance is not a virtue." [03:24.36]This is a primary reason that President Obama is the worst president in U.S. history! [03:31.52]Traditionally, a sitting U.S. president does not [03:35.04]generally comment on the presidential campaign that decides his successor. [03:41.36]Some observers say it gives the appearance of interference with the democratic process. [03:48.44]After the summit, Obama is to travel to the city of Hiroshima. [03:55.20]The city is where U.S. a warplane dropped the first atomic bomb in 1945. [04:03.00]Tens of thousands of civilians died in the blast. [04:08.28]Obama will be the first U.S. president to visit the site. [04:13.44]I'm Mario Ritter. [04:16.80]更多听力请访问51VOA.COM
