[00:08.12]He always felt tired by the middle of the work day. [00:13.47]He asked business professionals if he knew [00:17.21]what they did to feel more energetic during the day. [00:21.78]Some told him they rested mid-day in their cars. [00:27.03]Others said they took short naps at their desks. [00:32.70]For Turissini, their answers revealed a need for Washington professionals [00:39.68]-- a place to go during the day to take a proper nap. [00:45.45]So, a few months ago, [00:48.11]he opened a nap cafe in the center of America's capital city. [00:55.09]It is called recharj. [00:58.17]After turning off all of their electronic devices, [01:02.56]recharj customers lie down in so-called "power nap cocoons." [01:09.53]The cocoons are meant to help people fall asleep, [01:14.37]stay asleep, and wake up feeling refreshed. [01:19.07]They have a bed, a blanket and a special scented eye mask [01:25.00]to help customers relax. [01:27.66]Soft music plays in the cocoons. [01:31.95]The customers sleep for about 20 minutes before returning to work. [01:39.21]Turissini says recharj offers a solution [01:43.49]to the city's fast-paced lifestyle – a chance to slow down. [01:50.55]He says that today's professionals face issues [01:55.25]that "we never really had a generation ago." [01:59.14]For example, smartphones make it easy for a boss [02:04.42]or coworker to contact workers, in Turissini's words [02:09.51]"at all hours at night or when you're on vacation." [02:14.45]He says "there's a load of other challenges [02:18.57]we're facing today that wellness and lifestyle changes – habit changes [02:24.16]– are critical to a sustainable life, to a long, happy life." [02:29.44]recharj experts also offer group sessions [02:34.14]on meditation and mindfulness, as well as wellness events. [02:39.66]Connor Garitty is an IT consultant. He says he visits recharj almost every day. [02:48.96]He says, "I feel, I guess, like the day is just beginning instead of (thinking) [02:56.30]‘Oh my God how am I going to get through the rest of the day?' [03:00.29]I come here a lot at the middle of the day and after work. [03:04.29]And even that is just as helpful because you're energized." [03:09.46]Mari Aponte is a lawyer in Washington. [03:13.75]She says she often feels tired and stressed after hours of sitting down at work. [03:21.79]She says, “What I like most about coming here is that I can breathe, [03:27.85]whereas my morning is very crazy. [03:30.62]I drink a lot of coffee and I'm like moving too much, too fast. [03:36.39]So, I come here; it helps stop time and just balance my day." [03:43.13]I'm Jonathan Evans. 更多听力请访问51VOA.COM
