[00:14.25]The American technology company SpaceX launched a rocket [00:20.36]carrying the satellites last Thursday from Florida's Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. [00:29.32]The company said all 60 satellites were successfully deployed into low-Earth orbit. [00:37.00]The satellites are designed to produce high-speed internet signals [00:43.32]from space to people across the world. [00:47.75]Internet users would pay for the service. [00:52.92]Each satellite weighs 227 kilograms and has solar equipment [01:01.17]and a small engine to position itself in space. [01:05.97]SpaceX chief Elon Musk says his orbiting internet service, [01:13.02]called Starlink, will launch in the coming years. [01:17.96]Twelve launches of 60 satellites each would provide internet coverage [01:25.24]for people throughout the United States, Musk said. [01:29.95]He added that 1,800 Starlink satellites could provide coverage for the whole world. [01:39.92]Musk recently told reporters he believes there is "a fundamental goodness" [01:45.92]to giving people in all parts of the world the chance to receive high-speed internet service. [01:53.28]His project especially aims to reach areas [01:57.92]with no current coverage or where services are costly. [02:04.92]The line of satellites could be seen passing over skies in the Netherlands early Saturday. [02:12.92]This led to a rise in reports to a Dutch website set up to record UFO sightings. [02:22.08]The Dutch website was flooded with more than 150 sighting reports, [02:28.40]the French press agency AFP reported. [02:32.24]Many people reported seeing a train of stars or lights [02:38.32]moving across the skies at the same time. [02:43.92]"There's a long line of lights. Faster than a plane. Huh?" said one report. [02:51.28]Another person described seeing a "star caravan" in the sky, [02:56.32]and someone else wrote, "I have it on film." [03:00.42]One unnamed witness told Dutch broadcaster NOS [03:06.64]he had no idea what he was seeing in the sky. [03:11.24]"Is it Russia attacking the US? [03:15.40]Are they UFOs? Seriously, I didn't know," the witness said. [03:22.80]One Dutchman who knew about the satellite launch plans [03:26.52]shared his excitement after capturing the sighting with his camera. [03:31.66]"I cheered them on, the moment they appeared," he told NOS. [03:38.36]I'm Bryan Lynn. 更多听力请访问51VOA.COM
