今年的消费电子展CES于周二在拉斯维加斯开幕。该盛事是世界最大的科技贸易展览。
公共有超过300家公司展出2万多种新产品。其目标是激起兴趣，达成交易——并希望获得媒体的好评。在去年的经济衰退期间，整个行业销量下降了8%。
电子消费品协会主席Gary Shapiro预测，今年销量比较强势的领域将是手机。预期美国将出售5200万部smartphone。smartphone可以运行应用软件，也可以访问网络。
谷歌公司发布了Nexus One——谷歌公司称其为“superphone”。这是该公司销售设备的首次尝试。Nexus One将与苹果公司受欢迎的iPhone竞争。
据报道，苹果公司即将引入一种新的数字化平板电脑。平板是一种比较容易操作的屏幕，可以阅读，观看视频或上网。其中一个例子就是Amazon Kindle。像上网本一样，平板的成本低于传统的台式电脑。但是这也意味着制造商和销售者获得的利润更低。
索尼和松下等公司引进了观看3D影片的电视机。3D电视机的成本超过3,000美元。预期，今年美国人将购买400万台3D电视机。体育广播电台ESPN和探索频道计划开发自己的3D频道。
消费电子展还设有一个区域供各公司展览节约能源，减少浪费，使用循环材料的产品。展览女发言人Jennifer Bemisderfer表示，今年的可持续科技产品展区比去年的大四倍。
她说，生产商对“从摇篮到摇篮”的技术概念越来越感兴趣。其中包括考虑一个产品的整个生命周期。
