女孩比男孩花费更多的时间浏览社交网站，听音乐和读书。男孩子则花费更多的时间玩视频游戏——平均每天比女孩子多48分钟。
VICKY RIDEOUT：“看上去似乎女孩子们开始对游戏失去兴趣，她们开始减少玩游戏的时间，开始做其他事情。而男孩子玩游戏的兴趣依然非常强烈。”
这项研究的其他发现：过去五年孩子们花费在读书方面的时间并没有减少。但是读报纸和杂志的时间减少，尽管有一些阅读现在在网络上进行。
