Top 5 Songs for Week Ending March 7

1. "Uptown Funk" Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars
2. "Thinking Out Loud" Ed Sheeran
3. "Love Me Like You Do" Ellie Goulding

We’re settling into a comfortable routine in which one new song appears every week. We can live with that…how about you?

Hozier is starting to slip on the Top Five, as his triple-platinum smash “Take Me To Church” drops two slots to number five. He’s following it with a new single, “Someone New,” which features actress Natalie Dormer in the video. You’ve seen her in several big movies and TV series, including Game Of Thrones. She plays Margaery Tyrell.

Maroon 5 rebounds a slot to fourth place with “Sugar.” Adam Levine and company are on the North American leg of a world tour, which sees them on the road well into September. Joining them through mid-June is MAGIC! You probably remember them from last year, when they topped the chart for six weeks with “Rude.”

Ellie Goulding poses for photographers upon arrival at the Brit Awards 2015 at the 02 Arena in London, Feb. 25, 2015.

Here’s your new entry: Ellie Goulding jumps three slots to third place with “Love Me Like You Do" from the Fifty Shades Of Grey soundtrack. Not only has it topped the singles chart for a fourth week in the U.K., it broke the streaming record previously held by “Uptown Funk.” Well done, Ellie.

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran poses with his British album of the year award for 'X' and his British male solo artist award at the BRIT Awards 2015 in London, Feb. 25, 2015.

Ed Sheeran remains stuck in the runner-up slot with “Thinking Out Loud.” On March 23, Ed will be among several star acts premiering new videos at the YouTube Music Awards. After taking a year off, the ceremony returns with a revised format: it gets back to basics by treating us to nine videos from the award winners.

Up at number one we have Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars…that makes eight weeks and counting for “Uptown Funk.” Or should we say the award-winning “Uptown Funk?” On February 25, Mark collected a BRIT Award for Best British Single. He says it was a pleasant surprise, because he didn’t think the song was released during the eligibility period. It was…and he’s the champ.
