越南一位天主教神父由于健康原因获准暂时从监狱释放,他说,他决心继续他的民主活动。

越南当局星期一释放了阮文黎神父,准许他在狱外接受脑瘤治疗12个月。他在离开哈南省监狱后对美国之音越南语组说,恢复健康是他的首要任务,但他也计划继续他的人权工作。现年63岁的阮文黎神父目前住在他的家乡顺化。他在去年几次中风后半身瘫痪。

越南一家法庭2007年判处阮文黎入狱八年,罪名是传播反政府言论。阮文黎神父是一位长期的民主活动人士,从1970年代开始就因为反共产党的活动不断入狱,总共在监狱里渡过了10多年的时间。

Vietnam freed Father Nguyen Van Ly for 12 months Monday to undergo treatment for a brain tumor.After leaving the prison in Ha Nam province, Ly told VOA's Vietnamese service that getting healthy is his top priority, but that he also plans to continue his human rights work.The 63-year-old clergyman is staying in his hometown of Hue. He is partially paralyzed from a series of strokes he suffered last year.

A Vietnamese court sentenced Ly to eight years in prison in 2007 for spreading propaganda against the state.A long-time democratic activist, the priest has spent more than a decade in and out of prison since the 1970s for his anti-communist efforts.
