Officials say the bomb went off as supporters of a hardline Islamist party held a rally nearby. At least 30 people were wounded in the attack.
Hours before, a bomb exploded outside the Police Public School in Peshawar, killing a boy and wounding 10 other people.
Elsewhere in Pakistan's northwest, officials say a bomb destroyed two tankers carrying fuel for NATO forces in Afghanistan.
The fire caused by the blast also destroyed a truck and nearby shops in the Khyber tribal district.
