卢旺达总统卡加梅与抨击他的一名英国记者在社交网站“推特”上打起口水战。这位总统星期日在他的官方推特帐户上14次回复了《独立报》前副主编伊恩.伯雷尔发表的推特文章。伯雷尔称卡加梅“专制而昏庸”,原因是卡加梅曾说,媒体、联合国和人权组织没有批评他的“道义权利”。卡加梅还击说,伯雷尔也没有权利评判他,或是决定人们应该相信什么。伯雷尔指责这位领导人不允许在卢旺达举行公开辩论,并取缔报纸,阻止竞争对手参加选举。

Rwandan President Paul Kagame has exchanged angry words on the social networking site Twitter with a British journalist who criticized him.The president Sunday replied 14 times on his official Twitter account to tweets posted by Ian Birrell, the former deputy editor of The Independent.Birrell described Mr. Kagame as "despotic and deluded" for saying the media, United Nations and human rights groups have no "moral right" to criticize him.President Kagame fired back, saying Birrell also had no right to judge him and or to determine what people should believe.Birrell accused the leader of not allowing open debate in Rwanda, shutting down newspapers and preventing rivals from standing in elections.
