[00:10.52]The explosion occurred in the Pakistani city of Mardan. [00:15.24]The blast took place outside the door of a government office. [00:21.20]The office was the National Database and Registration Authority. [00:27.08]That office was in charge of issuing national identity cards. [00:32.92]The attacker arrived at the office's gate on a motorbike. [00:37.64]The cyclist was stopped by a security guard. [00:42.68]He detonated an explosive vest, according to a witness. [00:47.70]An investigation into the identity of the bomber is underway. [00:53.76]A Pakistani official said if the bomber was not stopped at the gate, [00:59.08]the death toll would have been higher. [01:02.56]It is estimated that the rider was carrying up to 12 kilograms of explosives. [01:09.28]A BBC report said about 50 people were wounded in the blast. [01:16.04]Some were injured critically. [01:19.52]Most of those killed or injured were civilians. [01:24.56]The attack is one of the deadliest in Pakistan [01:28.20]since a December 2014 massacre left 150 students and teachers dead in Peshawar, [01:35.88]the BBC reported. [01:37.96]A faction of the Pakistani Taliban said it carried out the attack. [01:43.96]In a statement sent to VOA, the group said it targeted the office [01:48.80]because it is part of Pakistan's anti-terrorism war. [01:53.72]But a spokesman for the mainstream Taliban in Pakistan said [01:58.22]the Taliban had nothing to do with the bombing in Mardan. [02:02.96]I'm Jonathan Evans. [02:04.36]更多听力请访问51VOA.COM
