[00:12.84]Podesta is the chairman of Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. [00:19.12]The candidate is the Democratic Party nominee. [00:23.40]The emails have contained some embarrassing information about the inner workings of the campaign. [00:32.40]They show a campaign that has struggled to improve an imperfect candidate. [00:39.56]They show that in March, aides were aware that Clinton was uncomfortable with the media. [00:48.16]The emails suggested she was not connecting with regular Americans [00:54.44]and not did not have a clear message for voters. [00:58.36]Another release this week includes some messages [01:02.52]that contain offensive comments made by campaign staffers about Christian teachings. [01:10.40]The emails also show the campaign struggling to deal with questions and criticism [01:18.08]about Clinton's use of a private email server while she was Secretary of State. [01:25.84]And, a collection of messages about China deal with Clinton's statements [01:31.64]about confronting that country's government as chief of the State Department. [01:37.68]The release includes a 2013 speech Clinton gave privately. [01:43.44]She has refused to make the speech public. [01:47.20]The released document suggests Clinton told Chinese officials [01:52.64]that the U.S. might take more regional action to contain the North Korean missile threat. [02:00.36]She reportedly said the U.S. would possibly send additional ships to the area. [02:07.28]Clinton reportedly said in the speech, [02:10.20]"We're going to ring China with missile defense. [02:13.88]We're going to put more of our fleet in the area. [02:17.64]So China, come on. You either control them [02:21.64]or we're going to have to defend against them.'' [02:25.20]Republican Party presidential candidate Donald Trump [02:28.97]has used the information to insult his opponent. [02:33.32]At a gathering this week, Trump called the hacked campaign emails "unbelievable." [02:40.76]He urged voters to read the messages released by WikiLeaks. [02:46.08]He said the emails, in his words, "make more clear than ever, [02:51.24]just how much is at stake in November [02:54.68]and how unattractive and dishonest our country has become." [03:00.28]The emails are likely to be a problem for Clinton during the next few weeks. [03:06.92]Americans vote on Tuesday, November 8. [03:10.81]The Clinton campaign has declined to confirm or deny the truthfulness of the released emails. [03:20.17]John Podesta says he is helping federal agents [03:24.40]investigating Russia's possible involvement in the hacking. [03:28.76]The Russian government has denied all involvement. [03:32.72]Podesta says Russia may be trying to influence [03:37.32]the outcome of the U.S. presidential election to favor Trump. [03:42.88]Trump has said he admires President Vladimir Putin. [03:48.40]John Podesta says the timing of the WikiLeaks release was not by chance. [03:54.72]He suggested the release was connected to the recent leaked video involving Trump. [04:01.68]On the recording, the candidate made vulgar comments about women. [04:07.68]WikiLeaks has said it will continue to release thousands of additional emails [04:13.72]from the Podesta hack every day until the election. [04:18.84]I'm Dorothy Gundy.
