[00:09.96]The robot, called Alter 3, has a human-like face and two long arms. [00:19.08]Video from the recent performance in the Emirate of Sharjah [00:24.24]showed the machine turning to face orchestra members and waving its arms. [00:30.84]Alter 3 even sang at times. [00:35.52]The performance was an opera called "Scary Beauty," created by Japanese composer Keiichiro Shibuya. [00:45.64]He told Reuters news agency that the robot acted as the conductor [00:51.24]by setting the speed and sound level of the performance. [00:57.24]Shibuya said the involvement of robots in the everyday lives of humans is continually increasing. [01:06.32]But, he said he thinks people will need to decide in the future how artificial intelligence, AI, [01:14.92]can best improve the human experience. [01:19.76]Shibuya added that he believes humans and robots can learn to work together to create beautiful art. [01:30.20]"This work is a metaphor of the relations between humans and technology," he said. [01:39.32]Shibuya noted that sometimes the music-leading robot can "get crazy," [01:45.92]making it difficult for the musicians to keep up. [01:50.44]But other times, the humans and machines cooperate very well. [01:57.20]Shibuya said the robots and AI that exist today are "far from complete." [02:05.56]He is interested in studying how such incomplete technology can be combined with art. [02:14.52]From those who witnessed it, the performance drew mixed reactions. [02:20.12]"I think this is a very exciting idea...we came to see how it looks like [02:26.36]and how much is possible," said Anna Kovacevic. [02:31.80]Another attendee, who gave his name only as Billum, [02:36.56]said after the show: "You know, a human conductor is so much better." [02:43.12]Although he said he is interested in AI and looks forward to big developments, [02:49.20]he noted of the project: "the human touch is lost." [02:55.20]I'm Bryan Lynn. 更多听力请访问51VOA.COM
