[00:08.08]The new community transmissions happened in Ho Chi Minh City. [00:14.72]They come one day after the country [00:18.16]reported its first local transmission of the virus in 89 days. [00:26.00]Vietnamese officials say they have carried out contact tracing measures [00:33.04]in an effort to prevent additional spread of the virus. [00:39.16]A local English teacher was confirmed to have the virus [00:44.04]on Monday, Vietnamese health officials said. [00:49.12]On Tuesday, a 28-year-old woman and a one-year-old child [00:55.80]were confirmed to be infected. [00:59.76]Local media reported the newly infected woman [01:04.48]was a student of the English teacher. [01:08.40]The young child had visited the teacher's house [01:12.16]several times, the reports said. [01:16.64]The teacher, a 32-year-old man, [01:19.96]had visited a Vietnam Airlines flight attendant [01:24.16]who was quarantining at home following his return from Japan, [01:29.84]Vietnam's VN Express website reported. [01:35.44]The flight attendant tested positive for the virus on Saturday. [01:42.68]The flight attendant had been kept inside a quarantine area [01:47.72]for five days before being released to self-quarantine at home. [01:55.12]Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long said in a statement [02:00.36]that the flight attendant "contracted the virus inside the quarantine area [02:07.04]then spread it to others during his home-quarantine time." [02:13.04]The health minister said it was the first time [02:17.00]such a transmission had happened. [02:19.72]He added that the flight attendant [02:23.04]"seriously violated quarantine regulations." [02:28.72]Health officials ordered 137 people [02:33.20]who had been in close contact with the teacher [02:36.56]to stay in a central quarantine center. [02:40.04]They also closed the school where the man taught. [02:45.88]Vietnam's borders remain closed in an attempt to keep out the virus. [02:53.40]Only limited international flights are operating [02:57.20]to transport Vietnamese nationals and foreign diplomats and experts. [03:04.12]Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked citizens and officials [03:10.68]to strengthen measures to guard against continued spread of the virus. [03:18.04]He said such steps are especially important [03:22.04]ahead of the Communist Party's National Party Congress, [03:27.00]which is expected to take place in early 2021. [03:33.36]"There will be many big gathering events ahead of the National Congress, [03:39.52]our country's biggest political event, [03:42.92]we can't let the virus affect us," the prime minister said. [03:48.80]Vietnam has reported 1,351 coronavirus cases, including 35 deaths. [04:00.48]The Health Ministry has said nearly half of the confirmed cases [04:06.04]were imported into the country. [04:09.72]The new cases ended Vietnam's 89-day stretch [04:14.48]without any known local transmission of the virus. [04:19.80]Earlier this year, it went 99 days without local transmissions [04:25.76]until several new cases broke out in July. [04:30.40]The outbreak happened at a hospital in Da Nang in central Vietnam. [04:36.48]I'm Bryan Lynn. 更多听力请访问51VOA.COM
