Iranian state television says a bomb explosion at a military parade in northwestern Iran has killed at least 10 people.Nearly 50 others were wounded.Authorities say the attack took place Wednesday morning in the town of Mahabad. Officials say most of the victims were women and children. Among those killed were the wives of two high ranking military chiefs.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but local officials have blamed Kurdish separatists.
The parade was one of several around the country marking the 30th anniversary of the start of the Iran-Iraq war.
Kurdish militants have been active in the past in the region which borders Iraq and Turkey.
